Summer Sketching

Image
A Selection of Summer Sketches Below are a selection of quick sketches from my A5 sketchbook which I carried with me this summer. I often sketched on my lunch breaks at work, and when out and about and there was a view/something I wanted to capture in another way than a photograph. Others were from memory/imagination which I had thought up on the spot. This was a quick sketch I did from my tent when camping with friends in St Davids, Pembrokeshire. Rather than sketching the exact view from an AirBnB I decided to draw the interior  features as they were and everything outdoors upside down. Some quick sketches of spring bulbs in my garden, the hill at my favourite walk, a conifer near the market garden I used to work at, and some other sketches that came into my head. Experimenting with using parallel, diagonal lines to create the effect of shading. This one of a rock climbing scene, one of my hobbies.
