Cleeve Hill Seasonality Thoughts

On a recent walk on the footpaths and fields near Cheltenham Racecourse, I took this image of Cleeve Hill's west-facing slope looking very autumnal. Many people believe that autumnal colour and leaves falling off trees happens simultaneously. There are however so many completely different timings for different trees and this picture shows this very well. These differing seasonal timings of trees in autumn creates a wonderful, colourful patchwork mosaic in the landscape which a camera certainly doesn't do justice. I will always find the spleandour and grandure of some of the trees marvellous in these deciduous woodlands near and on Cleeve Hill.
