Motorsport Landscapes at Prescott Speed Hill Climb
While talk of care usage within the landscape field is usually in a negative tone, one use which is rarely spoken about by landscape architects is motorsport within the landscape. I recently went to Prescott Speed Hill Climb near Gotherington, Cheltenham and watched a hill climb event run by the Bugatti Owners Club who have owned the site since the late 1930s. This piece of land where the racing circuit is situated was once part of the Prescott Estate, and Prescott house still sits proudly at the top of the hill. Another similar estate parkland used for motorsport nowadays is the Goodwood estate in the southeast of England.
