Library of Birmingham Building
On a recent visit to Birmingham I walked past a very interesting building which I discovered was the library of Birmingham, designed by Mecanoo. The building is very interesting, with sections getting smaller and smaller as they get taller, leaving space for roof gardens on top. The façade of the building has a range of differently sized, interlocking and overlapping circles which are atop either a black or golden background. These create a façade which draws you in. Additionally the frontage of the building from ground level has a canopy above, which is due to the cantilevered section above. This building is interesting to look at and relates to my landmark building in Alney Island.
